SECOND PROJECT: INCLUSIVE EDUCATION * OTHERSIDERS´ & LOSGOCHOS´ MIND-MAP*

What have we learnt and improved from sharing our point of view with other group? Have we understood what is INCLUSIVE EDUCATION better?

Reflection by Umaima Kassemi Serroukh

"We are all different and unique"

We comprehend inclusive education as a democratic environment where students get a deep sense of responsibility, equality and justice and they learn to have initiative and intrinsic motivation. A community in which families, school, teacher and students all are part of it. School´s role is mainly to promote teachers constant formation, to adapt the curriculum and to provide special needs services. Teacher´s role will be to work through an own motivation and vocation, to apply ICTs in the classroom and they required to undergo continuous training.  Families have to have an active participation along with the school and trust in teachers´ work, too. A coordination and dialogue designed to facilitate co-existence through the assemblies.

In addition, classroom environment is key. A space where students learn values such as respect and team work ones. All have the opportunity to integrate and equality is important but equity is the objetive. The diversity is seen as a way to enrich each other and all the students receive individual attention.

In general in the schools that promotes inclusive education, you will find heterogenous groups which share the same rules created in a democratic way. Mostly, they learn in a cooperative way. They remain active and they must help each other so personal responsibility and engagement turns very significant.

Innovation is essential. As I said before teachers must give all the tools to the students so they can feel adapted in this society of constant change. So, all the educational community have to remain open minded and be flexible. New technologies have an important role  and above all an attitude of continuous improvement.

Othersiders also give a special attention to innovation in teacher´s formation and  in a curricular change. What I really enjoyed from their conceptual map is that they included assemblies as an opportunity to deal with bullying. As we do, they also made a parallelism between inclusive education and life. They explained the attitude that you have to keep like tolerance and respect. And they also see the educational communities cooperating all together.

To conclude, I find this way of sharing very enriching since you get to know others point of view and how we see the same idea in a different way and also vey similar.

Reflections from Celeste Escalera Béjar

Inclusive education for Los Gochos it is defined with the sentence: "We are all diferent and unique" what it is a great advantage and opportunity for learn.
An inclusive education must have a cooperative environment were every body helps other to learn. How? With an active role, dialoguing with mates, helping others or being engage in the learning processes. As well, working inclusive it means continue innovation for adapting to the kids and society needs, for achieve it, is necesary to be open minded, flexible, adaptable, hard worker and improve continuely.
Work in inclusively it means a classroom environment based on the RESPECT, like César Bona has said in a recent survey in channel 4 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sN_73Pl0hA ), as well he remarked: We are not individual bodies and teachers have the great privilege to invite children to look through the window and improve the world they live in. An inclusive education must be rooted in an environment of respect, integration, diversity or equity.
The best way of achieving an inclusive education consist on working together between all the education communities (school, teacher, student and family) to reach a common goal: All the students learn and they feel happy while doing it. Because of that, there should have been ,for example, a curriculum transformation, a teacher's continuous formation, a student's active role in learning or an active participation of families at school and confident to teachers.

Some other aspects learned by the dialogue with the group othersiders are:
To achieve an inclusive education in all the schools there must be an actitude based on tolerance, respect, acceptance and equality.
In addition, it is need a change on education, the curriculum it must be adapted to the necesities of the kids and the XXI society, we have to finish with an industrialized education. Because of that we have to invert on innovation, like on ICT,methodologies, techniques... and improve the adaptation of all the society and education communities to it.
In the process of being inclusive at school, teachers must support and encourage students since they need to feel valued and important in the decision making of the school.
I conclude, affirming that from their logo we can understand easily what inclusive education means: we have different capacities (different bulbs) and it is because of that we are perfect to work in group

Reflections from Cristina Álvarez Domínguez

We, Los Gochos, used the expresion "We are all different and unique" to describe Inclusive Education, meaning that with all our differences, if we work together everything is possible because each of us give something that others can't.

In Intrusive Education we need to keep in mind that all members are needed because it is a democratic model in which every one is an important part of the team. A cooperation between teachers, parents and other people in the educative community is required in order to achieve this kind of education. The classroom enviroment is also essential to get good results.

The centres are prepared for the needs of the members, teachers and students, and respect is one of the fundamental points. With the Inclusive Education any problem has its solution and conflicts are solved using the dialogue and mediation. There is an equitative access for everybody, an education without categories so it means that all the students have the same opportunities thanks to the equity.

Students work on responsibility, values and equality by helping others in the classroom. Sometimes, students help teachers with their work. The role of the teacher is to motivate the students and innovate by using new mothodologies in the classroom such as ICT. But there is also a cooperation between teachers and parents and usually the latter go to the classroom to know what their children are learning and also to use those teaching techniques at home.

Othersiders focused on the individual capacities and differences signifying a curricular change. Moreover, they also paid attention to the teacher's formation to reach an education of the 21st century. In addition, they said that life was education  thought the personal experiences and the cahnges.

Evaluation of the Presentation of "Cooperative learning". SOFA SESSIONS group

EVALUATION of Celeste Escalera Béjar

Good job Your powerpoint presentation was very creative and dynamic, congratulations.
Work on it You have to improve your communication skills, I mean , look to the audience and not only to the teacher since it seem we weren't at the class and the presentation was only for the teacher.
Good jobThe idea of adding an index before the presentation was so clever because it clarify us what will you to talk about.
Good job The content was so well explained, moreover you include new information like two different techniques for practicing cooperative learning and a video and a puzzle to explain jigsaw technique. In addition, all of you know the topic and were able to respond the teacher questions.
Work on it Nevertheless, the confidence of all the members to talk in public wasn't the same so maybe you can meet more times and practice the presentation to motivate your peers security to
talk in public.

Well done sofa session's💪

EVALUATION by Umaima Kassemi Serroukh

This group has made a great job in general. Although some of the members were not confident at all, they have presented and demonstrated that all know about the topic. I suggest them to meet more all together face to face so they can know each other better and feel more confident about their performance and their mates´. In this way they will help and understand each other better.

However I really enjoyed the presentation design with curtains and the information organization which I find very well structured. It caught all my attention. But once again I prefer not to write entire sentences constantly in the PowerPoint since we stop listening to our classmates in order to read what is written there.

I want to mention that this group was the last one and it was easy to me to follow the information and to enhance my knowledge about cooperative learning and also to expand it. They gave us another perspective: the positive and negative interdependence. The positive one means that all are part of the group and the negative one that if something goes wrong it is only the fault of the person that did not fulfill her role.

They spoke about the advantages and disadvantages which I do not think are real. As the teacher said I would prefer to speak about challenges instead of disadvantages because I do not see any on meeting outside the classroom time. Indeed I found it good and we have to learn to work in this way and to get used to it since is what we are going to find in the work world in most of the companies. We learn to be more tolerant, too. A key aspect of  cooperative learning.

Coming back to the thing in matter, what I appreciate from this group is about they say about teacher´role. They said that "the teacher must create a highly structured and well-organized learning environment". I agree with them completely. This aspect is very important in order to work cooperatively and to achieve the objetives, the group ones about the roles and the ones related with the content.

In addition, they showed us a new one technique which was reverse jigsaw. This technique is the same as jigsaw but as the name says starting the opposite. We have practicing it through and activity that I found easy to follow and interesting.

Well done!! 👏👏

EVALUATION by Raquel Ezquerra Rodríguez

The presentation of this group was very cool! They made the slides dynamic, what got me attentive and interested on what they were going to say. They explained very well the topic, although there were some parts in which there were some confusions (like the term disadvantages when actually they were challenges). Apart from that, there were new ideas and innovative, such as the puzzle as an example of cooperative learning. Moreover, they didn’t have problems in answering the questions the teacher made them.

A few things to improve for the next presentation are: to explain all the steps of the activity before starting and making sure everyone got them clear, to not only speak to the teacher, but to the audience, and to meet outside the lesson more times and do not read the information (you must know it already) since it was visible that there was not an equal confidence on the project.

Good work!

EVALUATION by Cristina Álvarez Domínguez

The index was an excellent and original idea but you spent a lo ton tine focused on the tasks of each member and the objectives of the team.

The presentation in general was dynamic and easy to follow and the design of the PowerPoint catched my attention even though there was a lot of text in the presentation in some slides.

Some of you were more fluent with the topic and felt more comfortable talking about it but there were some ideas that were not clear for you like the positive interdependence.

The video was good and explained well the ideaswhich made it an interesting part of the presentation that helped understanding the rest of it as well as the pictures you included.

You only looked at the teacher and it was like if the rest of the class didn't have to be involved in the presentation. What i most like about this presentation was the activity and how it made possible working in base groups and also in expert groups.

You should change that it looks like there a leader in the group. Be confident with the topic and interact with the other members.

Evaluation of the presentation of "Cooperative learning". FERNWEH group

EVALUATION by Raquel Ezquerra

To start with I have to say that the activity with the “carpet” was fantastic! It is a different way of interpreting cooperative learning that caught very well the idea and it was entertaining and fun. Moreover, the explanation was very good. It was a clear explanation with examples to associate the concepts.

On the other hand, there are things to improve for the next presentation. Although it was well explain, there were some important concepts missing. Also, it got boring since the power point was lifeless and the members of the group didn’t transmit much energy. I recommend meeting more times to solve these aspects.

I hope to see more innovative ideas, such as the activity you presented, on your next project.

EVALUATION by Cristina Álvarez Domínguez

I think that the visual presentation was dinamyc and correct but in my opinion, there was a lot of text written in the PowerPoint which made it distracting in some moments.

It was well explained but there was a lack of important information I missed such as the techniques used in cooperative learning and examples to support the theory.

One good point of it was that all of them could explain anything about the topic and with their own words.

On the one hand, I really enjoyed the first activity with the blanket/carpet. It was very original, fun and an excellent example of cooperative working. But on the other hand, the second activity was completely different and the instructions were not clear at all. Different of the members of the group gave different instructions for the activity.

EVALUATION of Celeste Escalera Béjar

Good job You have presented the idea of cooperative learning in the best way I have seen at class, since we have elaboarted in our minds a clear idea about what working cooperative consist on.
Work on it I know it is part of the fear of talking in public and as well we aren't so used to it, but for the next presentation try to talk looking to all the audience not only to the teacher  I know you will do it great the next time.
Good job I liked very much your power point designe, it was colerfull and atractive, what cought our attention, in addition you added your logo to the presentation what was innovative.
Work on it Nevertheless, you should have written the power point with less sentences and more key words.
Good job The activity was well designed, the idea of learning about the mamals relationing the colors with an animal it is so clarifying for kids. Work on it However, it would be great if you added the next time a slide in the power point where you set up the steps to take for do the activity, since we didn't have clear at first what to do in the activity.

Well done Fernweh 💪

Evaluation of the Presentation of "Cooperative learning". OTHERSIDERS group

EVALUATION of Umaima Kassemi Serroukh

I really enjoyed their logo, they have been very innovative in this aspect.
The presentation was very simple but the information was well organized and summarized and concrete which I really appreciate since I have understood many theoretical aspects better. I could notice Marta and Ana more participatory and knowing more about the game and theory. But they agreed that they all worked the same, so I trust them.
The video motivated me to follow the presentation since I found it in connection with the theory and very enjoyable.
Coming back to the theoretical part, they explained very well the characteristics of the roles working in a cooperative environment, such as that they must be rotative, they must include personal tasks and commitment. And also about teacher´s role who must be specific.

Once again, another group give us a creative activity which catches our attention. It was a simple one although I would fin easier clear instructions about how to play. Some of the questions were very specific and complex.

They worked on TGT technique and we had the possibility to understand better how to apply it in a cooperative way.  They also make us being actively engaged trying to answer the questions as fast as possible in order to get the first, this is, the points.

Well done!!! 😛

EVALUATION of Raquel Ezquerra Rodríguez

I think this group could have done it a lot better. It gave me the impression that not all the members were involved enough on the project.

On the one hand, there where great parts of the presentation. The concepts where very well explained, with detail. The video of the animals working cooperatively was very funny and it showed the idea very clear. And, they did an entertaining activity, dynamic, fun, useful, and good for learning.

On the other hand, there are some things to improve. The presentation didn’t get attention at all, there was too much writing and the lyrics were quite small. They spoke to the teacher and not to the audience, and the corporal position was not appropriated, like relying on the wall or sitting on a desk. And, there was not an equal participation of all the group members, not enough group preparation in this aspect.

You have more potential. I’m sure you’ll improve as a group for the next project, keep working. 👍💪

EVALUATION of Celeste Escalera Béjar

Good job. The video was very innovative and creative, it present us the idea of working cooperatively very well.
Good job. The content was very good selected and explained.
Work on it. Nevertheless, the presentation of the powerpoint was a little bit faint, it could have been more colorfull.
Work on it. It seems like most of the people know the topic but some not, at class some of the members posture was relaxed instead of active. As well, it looks like a person did all the job.
Good job. The activity you preapred was very creative, interactive, dynamic and too cooperative. It show us how TGT technique consist on: a topic is presented to the class, they work on it in base groups, an activity is prepared for them, all the members of the group discuss about it and they choose a solution, then when they know the solution a member of the group ( in representation of all) sais the answer and if they answer correctly they win a "point".

Well done travelchers 💪

EVALUATION of Cristina Álvarez Domínguez

I liked the presentation because it was very well explained and easy to understand perfectly although in my opinion, it was extremely simple and didn't have visual and attractive content with a lot of text, it was simple.

It seemed like not all of you knew the topic in the same way. Some were more active and integrated in  the presentation than others.

One thing I really liked was that you explained the role of the teacher correctly and giving it the importance it has.

The activity was great, creative, dynamic and at the same time you explained some theory which made it understand both parts, the activity and the theory better. It was excellent to work in groups and the perfect one to explain the technique.

Evaluation of the Presentation of "Cooperative Learning". "Education League" group.

EVALUATION of Umaima Kassemi Serroukh

First of all, I have to say that José did a great job wearing Superman costume and above all with his attitude, he is improving and showing an evolution in his shame to speak in public. I just want to encourage him to keep doing it this way. So, Jose congratulations, your production was concise, concrete and clear.

I found this presentation vey dynamic. The design of the Power Point was very original and the information well organized, although I find better writing only single words or what you want to emphasized. In this way the audience is listening to you instead of reading the presentation.

I have learnt from them that it is better not having a helper, instead all must be helper of all the members in the group, this is to work cooperatively. Another thing that I have learnt is that the diary has to be done by all the members, not just by the secretary since it is a reflective activity where all count.

They spoke about the coevaluation which is one of the main characteristics of the Cooperative Learning, and they do it really well.  They also explained the advises for doing the activity really well. Although the steps for the activity were not clear enough.

As I understood, they gave us a questionnaire in order to know in which role of the activity we fit better. The roles were "portor", assistant and the acrobat. Then, each person will be distributed in expert groups where there must be all the same together, so we will find three expert groups. One of the "portors", the second one formed by assistants and the last one by acrobats. There, we should get experts in our role.

The next step was to form base groups where to find at least two "portors" and acrobat and an assistant, which looks after the other members. And explain what we have learnt in the previous group.

To conclude, the theoretical part catches my attention and I enjoyed listening to them. I would have liked performing one of the figure that they have prepared since I could appreciate their effort and their creativity and for me it would have been the first time.

Well done mates!! Love your PowerPoint and blog design.
Looking forward to learning more things form you...   🔝

EVALUATION of Raquel Ezquerra Rodríguez

The education League presentation was very creative. They caught everyone’s attention since the beginning with the costumes and during the presentation with the animated slides. They were comfortable on their topic, they knew what they were talking about and could answer with confidence to the questions. The content was very well explained and the activity they had designed was an entertaining and fun collaborative activity which engage all of us. To improve for the next presentation, I would suggest to speak to the audience and not to speak to the teacher all the time and also to explain the steps of the activity on the power point.

Great work, congratulations to all the Education League members!💥

EVALUATION of Cristina Álvarez Domínguez

The staging of the Education League was really creative and the powerpoint was easy to follow even though there was a lot of text written in it but at the same time I found some important key points missing which would have made it a better presentantion.

There was a great surprise in the way Jose did his part, you did a great job!

All of them knew every part of the topic so they could answer anything at any time meaning that they have worked together in the project nevertheless, I think taht more team organization would have been required.

I liked the activity, it was very dynamic, but in my opinion there was a bit chaotic because the stems were not strict and clear.

EVALUATION of Celeste Escalera Béjar

Good job. The way they start the presentation was so creative, they catch our attention in the first minute with the disguises of superhores.

Good job. The power point was so creative and easily to follow. In addition, all the members of the group know the topic and where able to explain it
Work on it. Nevertheless it seems in some moments that some members of the group wanted to talk their mates "part".
Good job. The activity was very dynamic and interactive. Work on it. But at the moment of doing the activity it was a little bit of confusing since the steps wasn't very clear.

Good job Education League 💪

Evaluation of the Presentation of "Cooperative Learning". "TRAVELCHERS" group.

EVALUATION of Celeste Escalera Béjar

Good job.First of all I want to say that I have liked so much the way you have introduced us the topic, since by the viewing of the video of The lion king we have easily concern about how working cooperativelly consist on.
Good job. Also the information in the presentation was clear and organized. And we noticed that all of you knew about what you were talking about.
Good job. Moreover the idea of searching apps, that help teachers in making heterogeneous groups and the group evaluation has been so creative and accurate.
Work on it.Nevertheless I think there should have been a little bit of interaction between the members of the group while they were doing the presentation, I mean looking to the students and not only to the teacher or ask questions to the audience.
Work on it.In addition, when the activity took place the audience didn't have clear instructions of what they have to do and because of that there have been some mess in the class.
Good job. Finally, the idea of using Lego pieces for explain maths it is a good idea and in my opinion, if we work on it, we would be able to explain to our future kids geometrical shapes with this technique.

Well done Travelchers.💪

EVALUATION of Umaima Kassemi Serroukh

In general I enjoyed the presentation. I have watched the Lion King Musical and I liked the connection this group has done. It was a great one. For me it is very important to connect content with real examples, in this way the idea, the meaning, can be understood easily.

I liked the way they have organized the information, not too much words in the PowerPoint and more oral expression, this a good point for them.

However, I found the presentation long than the classroom time. The presentation part and the game one were much more than 25 minutes long. And during the game, they were not very clear about what we have to do and the class was making a fuss.

On the other hand, it has been a good idea adding the Apps to help in cooperative methodology but I missed to get to know at least one in detail, that will be useful as a future teacher.

Generally, they have been innovative and creative. I really liked lego game. I could appreciate their effort and dedication, their commitment. And this is valuable.

EVALUATION of Raquel Ezquerra Rodríguez

The introduction of the presentation was a good way to start as they connected the topic with the Lion King musical, what gives a more open idea of what is cooperative learning and that it does not only work in school, it is a great methodology in many contexts that involve group works. Also, there was a little bit of interaction with the audience. This is also a good point to engage with it.

Travelchers did a good explanation of the work parts using their own words to express the concepts in a better way. On the other hand, there were some parts in which not all the members of the group had a clear idea of the concepts. For the next project, I recommend to reinforce this part by making sure all the members understand and know how to express everything.

They did good researches of extra information such as the apps or the introductory video. Together with this, the use of the ICT was appropriated and made the presentation much more dynamic and creative.

The energy that is transmitted with the presentation can make it be a success by getting the audience attention and foster their interest. This point was difficult to achieve since they were the first group presenting the topic and there were still some questions to clear up, although they tried their best!

Finally, the activity they had prepared was a very original and entertaining work to do in groups that develops the student’s skills and abilities. The instructions could have been more clear, but, definitely, they have understood how does cooperative learning work and they are able to put it into practice.

We could see you have worked hard on the project Travelchers!👏👏👏

EVALUATION of Cristina Álvarez Domínguez

I really liked how they introduced the topic with the introductioin of the Lion King Musical as an example of cooperative learning and using it as a base for the introduction.

The personal and group objectives were very realistic which is very important in order to reach them so it means that they can achieve them easily too.

I think that the presentation was organized well with titles for each block and it was clear and easy to follow.

The main ideas were writen in the PowerPoint and they were also explained correctly with their own words which makes it easy to follow and represents that they understood the topic perfectly.

They added extra information with the apps for the teachers which I found very interesting and useful for our future.

However, I think that the activity even though it was creative, it was quite hard and challenging for us so children would find it difficult in some moments. It would have been better if they had helped the teams one by one instead of saying the instructions and the corrections in general.

You did a great job Travelchers!!
